May 24, 2019: Hutchison Ports Thailand is both honoured and pleased to participate in cooperation with the Customs Department and other related government agencies today at the opening ceremony of the e-Coastal Trading System project by the Laem Chabang Port Customs Bureau at Terminal D.
Coastal shipping in Thailand is expanding rapidly due in part to the government’s policy to both reduce the cost of transportation within the country and the push to reduce the amount of trucks on the road to help alleviate traffic congestion. The Customs Department also sees the importance of the coastal trading and the vital role it plays in international trade.
The e-Coastal Trading System is an important project that the Customs Department is developing with modern IT and communication technology. The goal of the system is to offer more convenience and faster access to information for customers across all sectors including coastal vessel operators, importers, exporters, and terminal operators. By working together, we can all help to increase the level of service and competitiveness of the country.
