Hutchison Ports Thailand (HPT) and Kasetsart University’s Faculty of International Maritime Studies collaborated today to conduct the ‘WASTE2WORTH’ workshop, focusing on sustainable waste management practices. The event took place at Kasetsart University’s Sriracha Campus.

The workshop featured a lecture on Sustainable Waste Management by Dr. Napimporn Sangvichien from the Faculty of Science and Asst. Prof. Dr. Supawat Chaikasem from the Faculty of International Maritime Studies. Participants also engaged in a hands-on herbarium workshop during the day’s activities.

This initiative is a component of the broader Go Green project, an academic collaboration between HPT and Kasetsart University that began in 2020. The project aims to raise awareness about environmental issues, particularly the impact of global climate change on regional health and well-being. It also seeks to promote environmental activities such as tree planting and waste reduction through upcycling while fostering environmental consciousness among HPT staff and university students.

The ‘WASTE2WORTH’ workshop represents the latest effort in this ongoing partnership to educate and inspire action on critical environmental challenges. By combining academic expertise with practical industry experience, HPT and Kasetsart University continue to demonstrate their commitment to sustainable practices and environmental stewardship in Thailand.
