May 26th, 2021; Mr. Jurin Laksanawisit, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Commerce recently paid a visit to Hutchison Port Thailand’s Terminal D to welcome Mediterranean Shipping Company’s MSC AMSTERDAM and gave an interview to the Thai press regarding the Thai Government’s solution to the container shortage issue.
MSC AMSTERDAM is a 399 meter-container vessel with 176,490 gross tonnage. She is the latest Super Post Panamax vessel welcomed to Terminal D.
On 5th May 2021, M.V. MANILA MAERSK, a mega container vessel of Maersk Line called at Hutchison Ports Thailand’s Terminal D at Laem Chabang Port.
The containers on this vessel are being loaded and discharged using Terminal D’s Super Post Panamax remote control ship-to-shore cranes.
M.V. MANILA MAERSK is 399 meters in overall length with a gross tonnage of 214,286 tons and a capacity of 20,568 TEUs. This is the 6th vessel of this size to call at Terminal D.
Mr. Stephen Ashworth, Managing Director of Hutchison Ports Thailand (HPT) recently joined the final of “HSBC Thailand Business Case Competition 2021” as an honorary judge. The competition was organized by Mahidol University International College (MUIC) via an online platform for the safety purpose.
At the end of the competition, “Somwang Consulting” from Thammasat University was announced as the winner of this year’s competition. The winning team will be going forward to represent Thailand and join with the other 23 international teams from Asia Pacific region and beyond, at the “HSBC/HKU Asia Pacific Business Case Competition 2021” which will also be held online between May 31st May to June 3rd, 2021.
April 11th , 2021; Hutchison Ports Thailand is very pleased to welcome the first call of Mediterranean Shipping Company’s (MSC) SENTOSA service at Terminal C1-C2, Laem Chabang Port. This service will provide a fast and direct link from Thailand and Vietnam to Long Beach in California.

April 1st, 2021; In collaboration with Aibel (Thailand) Limited, Hutchison Ports Thailand provided a berth at Terminal D to facilitate the loading of the main support frame module for an offshore oil processing platform onto a specialized platform supply vessel. The operation to transfer the module onto the vessel was safely completed after approximately 5 hours.
As a representative of Hutchison Ports Thailand (HPT), Mr. Anat Machima, Chief Operating Officer recently welcomed Council of State, Marine Department, and executives of Laem Chabang Port to Terminal D.
The 50 visitors were presented with HPT’s business approach as well as a demonstration of the latest remote-controlled port equipment.
