On Wednesday, February 6, 2019 Hutchison Ports Thailand (HPT) made a donation to fund the construction of a Thai traditional medicine room to help promote public health within the local community.
The donation was made by Stephen Ashworth, Managing Director of HPT to the Sheriff of Sriracha District in Chonburi Province. Construction of the medicine room is expected to be completed in April.
30 January 2019: Hutchison Ports Thailand (HPT), the largest container terminal operator in Thailand, alongside their guest of honour Dr. Pailin Chuchottaworn, Deputy Minister of Transport, presided together over the official opening of Terminal D at Laem Chabang Port. Alongside the Deputy Minister of Transport, representatives from government agencies, the private sectors and other distinguished guests were also in attendance.
Upon completion of all phases, Terminal D will be the largest and most advanced deep-sea container terminal in Thailand. One of the most notable features of the new terminal is that it will be the first and only terminal at the Port to feature remote control technologies.
Terminal D is an integral part of Thailand’ s Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) under Thailand 4.0’s objective to modernize the economy through improved infrastructure and innovation. Terminal D will set a new global standard of port operations which upon on its completion will greatly facilitate the growth of container volumes at Laem Chabang Port.

Monday, Nov 26, 2018: Mr. Stephen Ashworth, Managing Director Hutchison Ports Thailand (HPT), recently participated in a ceremony celebrating the maiden voyage of the largest vessel to ever call Thailand, the “M.V. ONE COLUMBA” to Terminal D at Laem Chabang Port. HPT is very honored that Ocean Network Express has selected Hutchison Ports Thailand to be a long term terminal partner at Laem Chabang Port. HPT looks forward to many more years of successful collaboration and hopes to continue seeing the frequency and size of vessels continue to rise from Ocean Network Express.
November, 25, 2018: The executives of Hutchison Ports Thailand (HPT) warmly welcomed Dr. Pailin Chuchottaworn, Deputy Minister of Transport; H.E. Dr. Siri Jirapongphan, Minister of Energy; and Mr. Somsak Hommuang, Chairman of Board of Commissioners, Port Authority of Thailand, as well as other Members of the Port Authority of Thailand and Management from Ocean Network Express (ONE). During the visit, the delegation toured the Port’s facilities andwere given an overview of Hutchison Ports Thailand’s business group and a demonstration of the new remote-control technology currently being employed at HPT’s Terminal D. In addition, the delegation witnessed the berthing of the first call of M.V. ONE COLUMBA, the largest container vessel to ever call Thailand, at Terminal D Laem Chabang Port.
24 November 2018: Hutchison Ports Thailand (HPT) recently welcomed M.V. ONE COLUMBA, the largest vessel to ever call Terminal D at Laem Chabang Port. HPT’s new Terminal D played host to Ocean Network Express’ (ONE’s) M.V. ONE COLUMBA. The vessel was met by delegates of Terminal D in the morning of 24 Nov, and the vessel departed Laem Chabang Port one day later. M.V. ONE COLUMBA, with a total length of 364 meters and a total gross tonnage of 145,647 tons, it is the largest container vessel ever to call at Laem Chabang Port in Thailand. The vessel was met with new remote-controlled quay cranes and remote-controlled rubber tyred gantry cranes that HPT used to discharge container boxes from the vessel to the yard with fast, accurate, and safe operations.
Tuesday , November 20, 2018 : Hutchison Ports Thailand (HPT) recently welcomed 106 participants from the Asian Maritime Technological College. The group visited HPT’s C1C2 Terminal to learn more about port management and the new technology being implemented at the port. During this visit, participates were presented with Hutchison Ports business group and HPT’s overview of Thailand’s logistics business, international shipping, import & export management as well as a look into some of the new technology being implemented for port businesses.
November 16, 2018: Hutchison Ports Thailand (HPT) held a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Dock School program, which brightens the lives of children by improving their school facilities, and sponsored scholarships at Bansom School in tambon Klong Kiew, Ban Bueng district of Chonburi province.

The group visited HPT’s C1C2 Terminal to learn more about port management and the new technology being implemented at the port. During this visit, participates were presented with Hutchison Ports business group and HPT’s overview of Thailand’s logistics business and the new technology remote control system being implemented for port businesses.
