August 16, 2019: Hutchison Ports Thailand (HPT) welcomed 40 officers of the Marine Department Ministry of Transport at terminal D as participants. The agenda of this visit is to enhance knowledge and develop their skill as a staff. The participants were presented an overview of Thailand’s logistics business by HPT. Follow by a demonstration of the container operation with remote controlled technology.
August 15, 2019: Hutchison Ports Thailand (HPT) recently welcomed a group of intern students from Kobe University and Tokyo University of Marine Science and Technology, Japan. The group visited HPT’s C1C2 Terminal to learn about port management and the Ports’ business group.
August 4, 2019 Hutchison Ports Thailand (HPT) the largest container terminal operator at Laem Chabang Port and Thailand, break a new record for vessel handling productivity. Between 13:00-14:00 of August 4th, 217 containers were discharged from the M. V. HONG KONG EXPRESSE using mainly remotely controlled ship-to-shire cranes at Terminal D. The average crane operating rate during this period of time was close to 43 moves per hours.
July 29, 2019-Hutchison Ports Thailand (HPT), the largest container terminal operator at Laem Chabang Port and Thailand, have achieved a new record for vessel handling with 6 super post Panama ship – to – shore remote control cranes handled two container vessels, M.V. YM WISDOM and M.V. ATHENS BRIDGE simultaneously.
On 26th July, Hutchison Ports Thailand (HPT) welcomed to the terminal a number of members of the Board of Directors of Westports. During the visit, the delegation toured HPT’s facilities and were given an overview of the business. The visit included a tour of HPT’s newly opened showroom at Terminal D and a demonstration of the remote control quay and rubber tyred gantry cranes at the remote operations centre.
Hutchison Ports Thailand (HPT) recently welcomed 65 participants from the Preparatory Engineering and Technology Demonstration School, Rajamangala University of Technology Isan Sakon Nakhon Campus. The group was given a special presentation focused on port management and presenting the newest technology being implemented for port businesses.
July 18, 2019 : Dr. Jessada Salathong was recently invited as a guest speaker to talk about corporate culture under the UNITY concept at Hutchison Ports Thailand. The topic of ‘Cross Culture and Intergenerational Communication’ focused on being aware of the differences in the ways of life and culture amongst people from various nationalities and working together between different generations. The goal is for participants to learn and better understand each other. This will lead to better relationships and will help in both adapting and accepting future changes.
Hutchison Ports Thailand (HPT) welcomed nearly seventy participants from the Port Authority of Thailand (PAT), Operations Department Group 2. They visited HPT’s C1C2 Terminal to experience the enhanced performance and new technology on display. During this visit, participates were also presented with Hutchison Ports business group and HPT’s overview of Thailand’s logistics business and new technology for port businesses (remote control technology), at Laem Chabang Port, Terminal D.
June 26, 2019: Hutchison Ports Thailand (HPT) warmly welcomed a group of participants from the Guangxi Port Authority. The group visited HPT’s C1C2 Terminal and during the visit HPT presented their philosophy on port management and an overview of the ocean transportation business. A demonstration was also given showcasing new technology on display for port businesses (remote-control technology), as well as how this technology impacts the safety of cargo, services, and other operations currently being implemented at Laem Chabang Port.

One of the latest advancements HPT has introduced at Terminal D is remote-control technology. This innovation is the first of its kind at Laem Chabang Port, and has helped HPT to better optimize cargo flow and operations. The boost to both safety and speed in turn helps all the ocean carriers, importers, and exporters who trust in HPT.
